It is a requirement to verify the identity of all customers who open an account.
We may ask for specific proof of identity depending upon how you apply for your savings account.
If you are opening your account by post at Northern Rock's Head Office you will not normally be required to send proof of your identity with your application (with the exception of Current Account), although in some circumstances this may be required.
If you are opening an account at one of our branches, you will normally need to provide proof of your identity.
Once your account has been opened you may also need to provide proof of your identity when carrying out withdrawals at one of our branches*.
